Pitittu, Sicilian word for hunger, appetite. The same appetite for knowledge and desire to deepen the practice of Kinbaku for those who have already taken their first steps into this world.
Description:
This 2-days workshop proposes a non-dogmatic approach to traditional Japanese bondage, sharing the vision and experience accumulated over the years by Camula Ropes.
The aim is to provide participants with a “toolbox” to consolidate the fundamentals and explore basic suspensions, while also providing cues for variations and deepening, safety and with awareness, the journey into the world of traditional Japanese rope bondage.
The workshop will be structured through demonstrations, followed by guided and assisted practice time. Each exercise will include one or more focuses on technical, aesthetic, and, in some cases, improvisational aspects.
Most of the proposed exercises will include “stopping points” to ensure that all participants can move freely within their comfort zone. The workshop will start by reviewing arm tying in TK before moving on to basic semi-suspensions and suspensions with attached variations. At the end of each exercise, participants will exchange constructive feedback.
Over the two days, Kake will introduce each exercise, highlighting the technical and/or emotional particularities of each tie and facilitate theoretical modules inspired by the concept of feminist self-awareness, aiming to share their experiences and feelings along participants.
The workshop will be taught in English. Kakumei Kan crew will translate from English to Finnish if needed.
CAMULA ROPES is composed of Kakekotoba and Atlas; there are two of them but they do not consider themselves a couple, but rather a collective of needs and desires to care for respectively. Their relationship begins back in 2010 and develops in a constant dynamic balance until 2019 when they discover together the practice of kinbaku, which sees them add a new level of complexity to their relationship. The goal of their bondage is not beauty, nor elegance, but truth, which automatically generates beauty, elegance, and intensity.
Atlas, begins and continues to study as a rigger at the Milan school of Kirigami and Tenshiko, and then over time deepens his knowledge and improves technique and communication in Semenawa with Sensei Naka Akira and Iroha San, Kurogami and Shiawase, Peter Soptik and Sansei, KinbakuLuxuria and Red Sabbath by taking private lessons and workshops in Europe and Japan. Kake, who during this continuing education joins Atlas as a model, begins to take lessons from Atlas and then to tie as well, in an effort to add a filter of awareness to her bottom experience but also to exercise the control and care that she had previously relinquished as a bottom.
Duration:
2 days with 6 hours of teaching per day with a lunch break of about 1 hour
Riggers prerequisites:
– Ability to tie a TK in any style
– Knowledge of safe uplines lock-off
– Familiarity with semi-suspension/suspension line management
Bottoms prerequisites:
– Familiarity with traditional Japanese bondage (particularly semenawa)
– Ability to distinguish between restricted circulation and nerve compression
– Ability to cross arms behind the back
Ropes and clothing:
We recommend that participants bring a set of 9-12 ropes (diameter 5-6 mm length 7-8 m) and wear comfortable clothing (avoid underwire bras).
